Just listened to a great podcast with Dr. Ben Bikman (metabolic expert) who explained that there are only two real ways to lose fat:

  1. Be in a calorie deficit (yep, probably be a bit hungry)

  2. Lower your insulin levels

Cool part? If you fuel your body with fats (not sugar), you make ketones, which help slow digestion and keep you feeling full.

He also talked about GLP-1—a gut hormone that slows digestion, reduces appetite, releases insulin, and controls blood sugar spikes. You can boost it naturally by eating more:

  • Fibre

  • Healthy fats

  • Protein

  • Low-GI carbs

  • Cut back on sugar and refined carbs

  • Eat more protein and fibre

  • Move your body (strength and interval training)

  • Avoid constant snacking

  • Sleep well, stress less
